God Hates Divorce BUT He Loves You…
The alleged 50% divorce rate across American households as touted by researchers is inaccurate as it pertains to couples who are active in their faith. And
According to Sociologist Bradley R. E. Wright, as published in his book “Christians Are Hate-Filled Hypocrites… and Other Lies You’ve Been Told”…
Among religious populations, Mr. Wright reports the divorce rate to be as follows:
- Catholic couples were 31% less likely to divorce;
- Protestant couples 35% less likely to divorce; and
- Jewish couples 97% less likely to divorce.
I brought up these statistics to make the point that “Religious” folks including Christians across various denominations are divorcing for whatever reasons.
Yes – God Hates Divorce BUT He Loves You More!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16
Jesus: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” -Luke 4:18,19
Is Divorce Sinful
If you believe it is a Sin, to set yourself free from being battered, bruised and oppressed…
Being treated as a prisoner, forbidden to speak with relatives and friends, except perhaps at the presence of your captor…
Possibly forbidden to attend Church services or Worship and Pray in your abuser’s presence…
Then take Comfort in the following scripture:
“And so I tell you, Every Kind of Sin and Slander Can Be Forgiven, but Blasphemy Against the Spirit Will Not Be Forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. – Matthew 12:31,32
If you are suffering from Physical, Emotional, Verbal and Financial Abuse by your spouse…
Perhaps, It is time to make a Decision…
God is calling every believer to break out of the mold and behave intelligently by making decisions to maintain their physical, mental and emotional Holiness.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 12:1-3, stated as follows: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. -Romans 12:1-3
Our Lord Christ Jesus (Yeshua) is the same Forgiving God who gave a second chance to the woman caught in adultery… Would He not pardon the Sin of Divorce for the above stated reasons? See, (John 8:1-12) (Romans 8:1)

- Adultery: (Matthew 5:31,32)
- Unequally Yoked: (1 Corinthians 7:12-16)

As it pertains to physical violence and other abusive behaviors, it is written: God hates “Hands that shed innocent blood”… “a heart that devises wicked schemes”… (Proverbs 6: 16-19)
The foregoing passage is not only applicable to physically taking of a life, but also to murder of the spirit and soul as involved in Betrayal from an intimate partner who is commanded to “Love” and “Respect”…
